Teacher Bio:

Hello!

My name is Ms. Israel. I am excited to share with you a little bit about myself. In high school, I had an English teacher who helped me understand that reading and writing were the gateway to everything. His passion for education and all things English was contagious enough that I became an English teacher. I student-taught with him in 2008 and then became his colleague in 2008-2009. I hope my passion for teaching shines through during your time in my course. 

I have been an online consultant for Wisconsin Virtual School for five years and have loved every minute. In addition to my online teaching, I have been and continue to be a brick-and-mortar educator in a high school in and around the Fox Valley for the past 14 years and spent two years teaching in a suburb of Atlanta, GA.
 
I am an avid football fan and love the Packers. My family has season tickets, which allows me to attend at least one game during the regular season. I am a huge music fan - and yes, I admit I am a Swifite although my love lies in classic rock. 

I have one daughter who is 8 - going on 18. We enjoy doing many things together - walking, yoga, cooking, and reading - to name a few. Together, we have attended many concerts including Sir Paul McCartney, Pink, and Joan Jett. This summer we will head to Summerfest to see Maroon 5 and maybe the Foo Fighters.

In my free time, I teach yoga and love to take walks around my community. My friends and family are very important to me and I love spending time with them. Two cool facts about me include: 

• My grandpa is 102 and fought in WW2 on an aircraft carrier in the South Pacific.
• I was on national television twice in 2006 and 2008 because I had a strong resemblance to Rachael Ray!
