Teacher Bio:
Welcome! We are going to work on English skills together! I have many interests and enjoy learning about students’ interests as well. We’ll incorporate those into lessons.
A little bit about me: I was born and raised in northern Wisconsin, but spent many years teaching both English and music all over Wisconsin. I also lived and taught in Sweden for a few years, where I experienced the challenge of learning a new language and living with new cultural norms. My family and I have hosted and gotten to know several students from all over the world, and I enjoy speaking and reading Swedish as often as I can.
My hobbies are varied. I enjoy knitting, basic furniture restoration, and reading (novels and nonfiction). I love the outdoors, canoeing, hiking, and exploring wild places.
Our time together will be focused on helping you, the student, make progress and feel more confident with your English skills. We will do this through activities that I will structure to fit your strengths, interests, and your assignments in your other classes.
English lessons with me focus on helping the student make progress in all content areas and feel more confident with English reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. I incorporate activities structured to fit the student’s strengths, interests, and needs in content classes. Students can expect physically active and mentally engaging activities practicing reading, writing, speaking, and listening!
I look forward to our time together!
