- Identify your learners’ academic needs and consult the WVS Course List for how WVS can help meet those needs.
- Work with CESA 9’s Special Populations Associate Director to share any necessary information regarding learner accommodations.
Within your district you will need to identify staff that will be able to support your learners in WVS courses:
- Identify staff within your district that will support your learners enrolled in WVS courses. The main support roles that your district staff will provide are identified as Affiliation and Coach roles.
- Appoint an Affiliation role for our online infrastructure to support your district in learner account creation, online course requests, and other course management tasks for your district learners enrolling WVS courses.
- Identify which district staff will be assigned as a coach for each learner enrolled in WVS courses.
Ensure that learners have the materials they need to begin courses with WVS:
- Review WVS’ Computer Technology Readiness document with your district’s IT staff to ensure minimum technology requirements are met.
- Obtain any necessary course materials, most courses do not require printed materials.
- Implement your own local policies related to online learning as needed Examples of district policies that may apply to your students in WVS classes include, but are not limited to:
- Academic Honesty
- Technology / Acceptable Use
- Attendance
As a partner of WVS, keeping lines of communication open with WVS administrative staff, WVS Help Desk, and WVS teachers are important for district and student success.

Districts that partner with WVS can hold two different roles; Affiliation User or Coach User. An Affiliation User is able to see all user and learner data within their district and is key player in how WVS is set up within their district. The Coach User(s) can view a subset of learners that they are assigned to, and play a key role in monitoring the progress of learners enrolled in courses with WVS. To learn more about these roles view the District User Roles Page.
