Teacher Bio:

I'm excited to share a bit about myself. With over 30 years of teaching experience, my journey in education has been a fulfilling adventure. I've been honored with the WSST Science Educator of the Year award and the WCEE School Forest Educator award, acknowledgments that underscore my dedication to nurturing young minds in the realm of science and nature.

My educational background includes a BS in Biology, an MS in Natural Resources, and an Ed.D. in Teacher Leadership. These degrees reflect my deep-rooted passion for both the natural world and the art of teaching. I believe that with the right support, every child has the potential to thrive, especially in today’s online learning environments.

Outside the classroom, I’m an avid traveler and have had the joy of exploring diverse cultures and landscapes in Ireland, England, Spain, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and the Bahamas. Many of these journeys have been shared with my students, opening their eyes to the wonders of the world beyond our textbooks.

When I’m not teaching or traveling, you can find me indulging in my love for the great outdoors—whether it's kayaking, hiking, camping, or snowshoeing. My golden retriever, Belle, often accompanies me on these adventures, bringing boundless joy and energy to our explorations.

I firmly believe that teaching is about more than imparting knowledge; it's about inspiring students to recognize their own capabilities and potential. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing that spark of understanding and confidence in a student's eyes.

Looking forward to connecting and sharing more!
