Teacher Bio:

I am passionate about animals.  I have a small hobby farm where I have goats, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, peacocks, and the three that provide a smile on my face most days, emus named Ken, Barbie, and Alan. I also have dogs, from a Mastiff/Great Dane to an 8-pound Shih Tzu.

I have recently been getting into gardening. Not growing a vegetable garden, but planting flowers, bushes, and other plants to start making my place more beautiful. It has been a challenge to keep pulling weeds.

I have a daughter who works in accounting and has a huge vegetable garden. She and her husband are expecting their first child this December. I also have a son who passed away just before his 13th birthday. He was like his mom and enjoyed working with his hands. He was always finding something to do, whether it be taking air out of my truck tire so he could change it or modifying his sister's bike so she could go faster.

I find that I believe that learning hands-on is the best way for me to grasp concepts. I try to continue doing that when I am teaching, whether in a brick-and-mortar school or online.
