Teacher Bio:
Hello! I'm Jill Kleman. I grew up in Wausau and have been living/teaching here my entire career. I'll be starting my 21st year of teaching elementary special education. I have worked with learners in all elementary grades and many different disability areas. I have taken a large interest in learning about the brain and how it relates to the learning, self-regulation and how to best support learners in the classroom. I like to get to know other's stories. It helps to build relationships and have an understanding about others. A little of my story...my husband Mike and I have two children. Our son Jack is 14 and our daughter Abbey is 10. Our family enjoys new experiences, traveling, going to concerts (my favorite so far has been Queen with Adam Lambert!), cooking/baking, being members of the Wisconsin Valley Coin Club, and having fun! We have a Bernese Mountain Dog named Regan but we call her "Rat Dog" because she isn't always the most well behaved. I am a big fan of all kinds of learning modalities for learners. My son began virtual school during the pandemic and loves it (he has not gone back to traditional school since). He is beginning high school this year and plans to continue full time on the virtual path. My daughter will be completing her last year in elementary school this fall and plans to attend virtual school for her secondary education. So I believe strongly that learners can get what they need through virtual school.
