EAA Aeroscholar High School Aviation Courses

Through a  partnership with Wisconsin Virtual School (WVS) and the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Aeroscholar Program we are able to bring high quality aviation courses to local Wisconsin high schools and their students.

This innovative program was developed to provide students with an outstanding science experience through the excitement of aviation. The EAA Aeroscholar courses were developed in collaboration with Utah Valley State College, along with aviation educators, EAA education staff, aviation partners, high school science teachers, as well as a National Advisory Panel of aviation experts, nationally recognized educators, and business leaders chaired by Joe B. Wyatt, chancellor emeritus of Vanderbilt University. 

AEROSCHOLAR COURSE HIGHLIGHTS

Ø       Available to Wisconsin school districts through a partnership with Wisconsin Virtual School and EAA for $325 for the Fundamentals course and $360 for the Advanced course.

Ø       High school science elective credit* and college credit for students who complete the course. (Download Policies document below)

Ø       Recommended for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors, and high schools have the option of granting graduation credits for these college courses.

Ø       National Science Standards are followed.

Ø       Students who successfully complete both Aeroscholar semester courses are prepared to take the FAA Private Pilot written examination.

Ø       Immediate feed back through interactive questions with trained support staff and instructors nationally and a facilitator / high school teacher.

Ø       Personalized technical assistance and Federal Aviation Administration instructors. Web assistance is available nine hours a day, Monday through Friday, to assist students with contents questions or supply course guidance. 

Ø       Multi-media lessons featuring extensive use of EAA photography from the last 50 years.

Ø       Virtual Exam Proctoring System.

Ø       A virtual tour of the EAA AirVenture Museum.

Ø       Opportunity for students to take their first airplane flight through the EAA Young Eagle’s Program and attend an EAA Chapter meeting.

Ø       Provide students with the awareness of the many career related opportunities in the field of aviation.

Ø       Students enrolled as EAA Aeroscholars will also receive a one-year EAA student membership and the monthly EAA publication, Sport Aviation, for the duration of their coursework.

*High School science credit is dependent on local school policies.
