Educational Experience:
Graduated from Gogebic Community College - degree in
Secondary Education. Graduated from Northland College
-degree in education. Since 1999, Mr. Tulppo has taught
courses in American History, Civics, Geography, and
World History for the Northland Pines School District.
Mr. Tulppo is a member of the Wisconsin Historical
Society Office of School Services Advisory Board and is
the coordinator for National History Day at Northland
Pines Middle School. He was named the Richard T.
Farrell Teacher of Merit by the Wisconsin Historical
Society in May, 2005. Mr. Tulppo started teaching for
Wisconsin Virtual School in 2004.
Personal Info/Hobbies:
Mr. Tulppo was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of
Michigan. In his spare time, Mr. Tulppo enjoys playing
golf (badly!) fishing, and hiking. During the winter
months, you will find him ice fishing or cross country
skiing.
Personal Statement about Online Teaching:
Teaching students in an online environment is a whole
new experience. It enables me to get to know students
from all parts of the state, and it is truly something
that I enjoy.
