Personal Info/Hobbies:

I enjoy silent sports, particularly canoeing, rock climbing, and cross country skiing.  I also am an avid photographer and musician.

Personal Statement about Online Teaching:

I believe that online learning opens a doorway to students that many may not otherwise have, and I remain impressed with the kinds of students with whom I have interacted over the years.  I have come to appreciate the unique individuality, intelligence and flair each student possesses, while rarely seeing their faces.  It is in this regard that I have come to appreciate how the personality is so rarely connected to appearance, and that has allowed me to forge some great working relationships with students.  In many ways, online learning provides a truly level playing field, in which social cliques and pressures melt away and give leave to the real essence of collaborative learning.

“O! This learning! What a thing it is!” --William Shakespeare, The Taming of the Shrew
