Personal Info/Hobbies:
Over the past 10 years, I have been working with young people in many capacities. I began my career as an AmeriCorps volunteer at Bonny Eagle Middle School in Buxton, Maine, then as a case manager for youth with municipal tickets at a Milwaukee non-profit organization, and spent two years overseeing the youth education programs at a homeless shelter and social services agency in Milwaukee. I then spent three years teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Language Arts and coaching forensics at St. Jerome Parish School in Oconomowoc, WI, before the birth of my daughter in May 2008. Currently I am the assistant coach of the Franklin High School Girls’ Swim and Dive team.  In my free time, I enjoy training for triathlons (I just finished my 6th one in July 2009), yoga, reading, cooking and knitting.

Personal Statement about Online Teaching:
Teaching online learners is an exciting new opportunity for me, and I’m excited to join the WVS team! Having taken online classes myself, I have learned that an online student needs to be organized, motivated, and self-directed. My goal is to help my students learn these valuable skills that will carry over into their future classes and careers. While online learning can present challenges for learners, especially for new students, I am excited to guide my students through this journey and to facilitate a successful learning experience!
