Personal Statement about Online Teaching:

Online learning is a new and exciting way to gain knowledge.  However, it can be challenging. Remember that the principles of an online course are the same as in a traditional classroom, but how we apply them can be very different. 

Please recognize that your role as a student and my role as a teacher are very different than in a live classroom.  You have to be more proactive and independent than is necessary in a live / traditional classroom.  You must actively direct and participate in your own learning.  The most common trait successful online learners have is timeliness.  If you fall behind, you will constantly be playing catch-up.  Procrastination is your worst enemy. However, if you stay on track, you will do just fine.
