Customized Online Prep Courses for the ACT
® and SAT!

Peterson’s groundbreaking online test prep courses do what no other test prep program has done before: deliver high-quality instruction that’s completely customized to each individual student.

No two students receive the same course!

Using award-winning technology, the course pinpoints the student’s abilities on the skills that are tested on the actual exam. A Customized Learning Path™ is then created to strengthen the student’s areas of weakness and reinforce and provide extra challenge in their areas of strength.

The most flexible and convenient way to prepare.

There are no fixed class sessions; students progress through the course at their own individual pace, whenever their schedules allow. The course is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any location—school, home, the library, a parent’s office, or anywhere there’s a computer with Internet access.

FAQs

Q: What are Peterson’s Online Courses?

A: Peterson’s Online Courses for the ACT® and SAT are comprehensive, individualized preparation programs, given entirely over the Internet. Students proceed through the course at their own pace, rather than as a part of a class. While students may work on their course during the school day, they can also access the course at any time from an Internet-enabled computer—at school, home, the library, or even a parent’s office.

Q: How do Peterson’s Online Courses work?

A: Every student receives a completely customized course, built just for them. An initial Diagnostic Test gauges the student’s level on all of the different skills tested on the actual exam. Based on this information a Customized Learning Path is generated for each individual student. Students progress through the targeted lessons that make up their Learning Path, strengthening their skills in areas of weakness and getting additional challenge in areas of strength. After completing his or her Learning Path, your student will take two or three full-length Practice Tests that simulate the actual exam. These practice tests reinforce what the student has learned and help him or her become comfortable with the actual test’s format.

Q: Will Peterson’s register the student for the actual ACT® or SAT exams?

A: No, students are responsible for registering themselves to take the actual exam on their preferred date. Information on how to do this is available in their school counselor's office or from the testing companies.

Q: What kind of help is available from Peterson’s?

A: Throughout the course, students can access technical and academic support 7 days a week, via both email and a toll-free hotline. Troubleshooting tips and information on these resources are located in the Student User’s Guide.

Q: How can parents help their students succeed in the course?

A: Students can view detailed reports on their skill levels and improvement throughout the course. You may want to encourage your student to log on to the course from home or your office and share this information with you, so you that you can see how he or she is doing and provide support and encouragement.
